Haridham Sokhada Temple, Vadodara, Gujarat.

Haridham Sokhada Temple, known as a Hindu place of worship, serves as a hub for the spiritual, cultural, and humanitarian activities. It is a temple within the Swaminarayan branch of Hinduism.



On February 3, 1978, In the presence of P.P. Hariprasad Swamiji, P.P. Kakaji, P.P. Pappaji, P.P. Aksharvihari Swamiji and P.P. Jashbhai Saheb construction work was started. On 12th April 1981, there was an auspicious day of "Ramnavami" and Occasion of "Swaminarayan Dwishatabdi Mahotsav" Shree Akshar Purushottam Maharaj, Shri Ghanshyam Maharaj, Shri Hanumanji and Shri Ganapatiji's Prana Pratishta or life-force installation ceremony was done.



This 3-story temple built with Shikar-bandhi (one with the dome) architectural designs. Excluding Shikharas (Domes) the whole temple is built with the granite. Temple have many celature and pillars which are carved beautifully. There are mainly 5 inner sanctums with the carving in Wood and Granite. The main part of temple is "Madhya Mandir" in which there is the 5 metal God idol known as "Aksharpurushottam". Murtis, or sacred images of Swaminarayan, Gunatitanand Swami, Guru's and other deities, are enshrined in the other inner sanctum. One is not supposed to enter the Madhya Mandir.
